He was my Father's Brother. My grandmother Marquita's Son. I have also heard him described many other ways. A man, a wanderer, a composer of songs, words, and ideas.
If anyone is interested in starting an Al Robles Wikipedia entry, it would be a great help. Citation information can be retrieved from various sources, including http://manilatown.org/events.htm#alonline
The following category may be the best place to start, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Filipino_American_writers
I think we, the Robles family, along with all of Al's friends, associates, and admirerers are working on a celebration, so until that comes together, please take over and express your feelings in the way you see fit.
Noone has set up a specific blog for sharing our memories, and more updates. I want to put a space together for all of us who may need a central place for information. I heard there was a get together around Manilatown tonight. Such love! If there is anything else in the works, please let us know.
I will also put up links to other blogs and will put up some family pictures. I may migrate to a more developed site with the help of Nazario, a dear family friend and someone Al respected very much.
In addition to encouraging coments, we are al collecting stories if you would like to send them to manong_al@me.com
