Al Robles, my uncle, has passed away.

I think we, the Robles family, along with all of Al's friends, associates, and admirerers are working on a celebration, so until that comes together, please take over and express your feelings in the way you see fit.

Noone has set up a specific blog for sharing our memories, and more updates. I want to put a space together for all of us who may need a central place for information. I heard there was a get together around Manilatown tonight. Such love! If there is anything else in the works, please let us know.

I will also put up links to other blogs and will put up some family pictures. I may migrate to a more developed site with the help of Nazario, a dear family friend and someone Al respected very much.

In addition to encouraging coments, we are al collecting stories if you would like to send them to manong_al@me.com

If you do not know about, and have not seen the beautiful documentary by Curtis Choy

"Manilatown in the Heart: time travel With Al Robles"
"Chonk Moon Hunter Productions"

please watch the trailer. Curtis did an amazing job. it was stunning to watch it when uncle was with us, and now it represents so much more. It was shown at the San Francisco Public Library, the Manilatown, Bijou Theater in Eugene, OR, The Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival 2009, and many others...(Sorry curtis, I ust can't keep up.) If you would like to contact Curtis at Chonk Moonhunter Productions, his email is: chonkmoonhunter@yahoo.com
